Creating Concepts To Identify Events In History!

Observation/Article 28, August 29, 2014

Concepts seeking to include Symbols for Allied forces in this Art Project.

The Honorable Spitfire Pilot Colonel Charley Fox didn't want the project he paid for to only talk about him or to exclude other Veterans... therefore the inclusion of Allied forces on that faithful day on Normandy shore was necessary....June 06, 1944!
History has it on June 06, 1944, the Honorable Spitfire Pilot flew 4 time over Normandy to assist troops on the ground.

Like many of us in tragedy, when we loose comrades or loved ones...we often wonder why? And Why Me?
Likely he was asked this question many times over his lifetime and felt a duty to leave a remembrance on behalf of all Veterans (Allied Forces).

To date my Art Project is half completed.

With the above question, Why Me? I often wondered if the Colonel thought he was robbed of some precious gift to lie with his comrades in battle in Normandy or in Flanders Field where poppies cover the ground...

The significance of the Poppy was also essential and so I created an Epitaph...Continuous research is what led to the final layout of this Art Project.

This was a gadget created to build momentum for the project...
That is if my design was ever among one that could be nominated by London Arts Council

My idea was to re-create a part of WWII

London Arts were thinking "Steel Statue!"

Art & History: For A Vibrant Conversation -- GOOGLE DOODLE!

Observation/Article 27, August 11, 2014

This has been a phenomenal task.... I began with an advertisement from London Arts Council London, Ontario, Canada. Then in a matter of minutes I was making my first ever Blog to highlight this Art Project.

I had never blogged before....and this is why I appreciate GOOGLE...they had me Blogging and sharing in a heart beat...  A lot of empirical research will tell you that the internet cannot impart meaningful education; I have to disagree!

I did not grow up in the computer age and never knew what I was missing... but when I started the vast reality that is online... I started using it to promote learning... However I also appreciate not having such tools growing up, because I wonder if this much would have impeded basic knowledge development!

Today I updated the Title of this Blog

Observation/Article 27, August 10, 2014

I updated the Title, because I felt it was necessary for the blog to reflect the Concept of my Painting.

Most individuals don't know who Colonel Charley Fox is, but we're all familiar with the work of Veterans

Some of us may even know the history off; allied forces invasion in Normandy on June 06, 1944. I enjoy these projects, because I can brush up on Canadian history while I complete this Art Project.

Sunday 27 July 2014

Here are a few images that partially shows the Layout chosen for this "Painting".

Observation/Article 24, July 27, 2014

Each image has it's own significance, contributing to the history of Veterans in World War 2.
In completing the Layout I used a set of thin brushes and oil paint.
The Focal Point chosen, then the structure; from there I began working outwards to complete the concept.
I believe it's necessary to in-cooperate an image that represents Canadian Veterans.
The significance of including the Epitaph is; in memory of all World War 2 Veterans.
Canadians can be proud of the contribution made by RCAF Veterans along with Colonel Charley Fox on, D-Day; June 6, 1944.
In Conclusion please know that the outlining of this Layout is complete and the task of adding color, highlights, horizon, etc., is beginning to take shape. Please check for updates, no promises, because I paint when it suits me and no other time. No idea at this point in time when the actual revealing will take place. Please know I'm as anxious as anyone else to have this piece completed. In order to post a comment, interact, ask a question, contribute your ideas; you will need to have a google account. You can create a new account by going to google.com All ideas and comments are welcomed! Joy Kissoon

Observation/Article 23, July 18, 2014

This much delayed Art Project is finally going to be a reality! Colonel Fox's work in World War II is most fascinating and deserves to be land-marked in Canadian history.

Postings will go public (later this month): regarding the concept and layout being used for the completion of this most "Awesome" project. This Painting will feature an essential part of Canadian history.

Tuesday, June 06, 1944 --- D-Day -- Allied Invasion in Normandy Landing!
It took the rest of the World under the leadership of United Nations to Defeat Germany and save France... A remarkable day in History.. So many sacrificed selflessly so we could have a free world to call home!
